MKW Productions Announces New Series “The Face of Furry Creek” for OUTtv

Toronto, Ontario – October 10th, 2012: Canadian comedic writer, actor and producer Mark Kenneth Woods (“The House of Venus Show”) and MKW Productions have signed a deal with OUTtv to produce an original scripted series for the ever-growing network for April, 2013.

The 6 part comedic mini-series “The Face of Furry Creek” will follow the lives of the fictitious citizens of a small mountain town struggling in the recession. In an effort to boost tourism and morale, the city holds a contest to find the new “face” of Furry Creek. With the winner receiving a large cash prize, five desperate finalists compete, lie and cheat their way to becoming “The Face of Furry Creek”.

The television component will be complimented by an interactive “contest website” with additional web-exclusive videos, photos, polls, blog and social media entries – all submitted by characters within the  plot of the show.

The series will star Woods and long-time collaborator Michael Venus in multiple roles including popular characters Deb and Sisi from Woods’ hit feature film “Deb and Sisi” (2008). Additional roles will be played by Vancouver-based sketch comedy duo Ryan Steele and Amy Goodmurphy (“The Ryan and Amy Show”).

Woods, whom will also act as executive producer, will write all 6 episodes of the first season and MKW Productions has signed on Rami Mikhail of Dreaming in the Rain Productions to film and co-direct the series.

Production will begin in Vancouver and Whistler, British Columbia in mid-October, 2012 and the series is expected to debut in April, 2013.
