MKW Productions Announces Bell Fund Digital Companion Project for New Television Series “The Face of Furry Creek”
Toronto, Ontario – January 14th, 2013: Canadian comedic writer, actor and producer Mark Kenneth Woods (“The House of Venus Show”) and MKW Productions, in association with the Bell Fund and OUTtv, will produce an original digital media companion project for the upcoming comedic television series “The Face of Furry Creek” for April, 2013.
The television series follows the lives of the fictitious citizens of a small mountain town struggling in the recession. In an effort to boost tourism and morale, the city holds a contest to find the new “face” of Furry Creek. With the winner receiving a large cash prize, five desperate finalists compete, lie and cheat their way to becoming “The Face of Furry Creek”.
To compliment the upcoming television series, the faceoffurrycreek.com digital media project will be designed as the contest website within the plot of the television series. Viewers will be urged to visit the very real site to see media-based contest assignments “made by” the fictional characters in each weekly episode. Ranging from videos to social media posts to ongoing online voting, the mobile and tablet-friendly website will provide viewers with an opportunity to engage in the television series beyond their TV screens. Additionally, online audiences around the world will be able to follow “The Face of Furry Creek” contest and its contestants online, and will be encouraged to seek out and view the television series for the “full picture”.
The project will again star Woods, Michael Venus, Amy Goodmurphy and Ryan Steele, all the actors from the television series, in original content.
Woods, whom will also act as the digital media producer, will write all the original content.
The website project is expected to go live in April, 2013 ahead of the series.
