26 Feb

2soft2hard_poster1_webMy latest documentary took me to the Arctic last fall and I’ve been in post carefully piecing it together ever since. Truly a labour of love, we are so grateful to the community in Iqaluit who shared their stories and their courage. We can’t wait to share your experiences with the rest of the world.

New Documentary Explores Inuit LGBT Experience In Nunavut

Toronto, Ontario – February 26th, 2016: MKW Productions Inc. is pleased to announce the release of Two Soft Things, Two Hard Things, a feature documentary directed by Mark Kenneth Woods and Michael Yerxa. As a small group in Nunavut, Canada prepare for a seminal LGBTQ Pride celebration in the Arctic, the film explores how colonization and religion have shamed and erased traditional Inuit beliefs about sexuality and family structure and how, 60 years later, a new generation of Inuit are actively ‘unshaming’ their past.

Check out the trailer below and look out for the full-length documentary at a film festival near you. Festival screening details will be posted here and on our brand new website www.twosofttwohard.com starting in May.
