What is The Face of Furry Creek? – Season 2 Cast Interviews

Our cast gathered together to explain the TV series, digital experience and upcoming changes in Season 2 of The Face of Furry Creek. A certain Mr. Ryan Steele was dressing in drag in Macau on The Amazing Race Canada at the time so we improvised. Quite nicely I might add.

SEASON 2 OF HIT SERIES “THE FACE OF FURRY CREEK” AND ONLINE DIGITAL COMPANION TO DEBUT SEPTEMBER 8th, 2014

Toronto, Ontario – August 6th, 2014:  MKW Productions Inc., with the participation of OUTtv Network and the Bell New Media Fund, are pleased to announce the release of the second season of the television series and online companion project “The Face of Furry Creek” beginning Monday, September 8, 2014 8:30pm ET/7:30 PT on OUTtv Network and www.faceoffurrycreek.com.

Created by comedy writer, producer and actor Mark Kenneth Woods, the second season of the scripted comedy series follows a mountain resort community whose tourists are leaving in droves. It’s time to create a new tourism campaign to get those visitor dollars back! And what better way to find a tourism ambassador than a local reality show contest? With old favourites and plenty of new faces in town, 5 candidates compete, lie and cheat their way to becoming the new “Face of Furry Creek”.

A critical and ratings success, the second season promises even more laughs as Mark Kenneth Woods plays an astonishing 9 characters! Michael Venus, Amy Goodmurphy and Ryan Steele (currently starring on Amazing Race Canada) also return in multiple roles (and genders). Woods again wrote all 6 episodes of the new season which includes a musical episode, a parody of Duck Dynasty‘s “freedom of speech” fiasco and there’s even a plotline mirroring Toronto Mayor Rob Ford’s antics.

In a unique melding of platforms, in each television episode, the fictional contestants are asked to create various videos that are then posted on our new media companion project www.faceoffurrycreek.comDesigned as the fictional contest website, each week the audience will have access to brand new, website-exclusive videos that they have seen the characters work towards in the television series. All for free.

The television series will air Mondays at 8:30pm ET/ 7:30 PT on OUTtv Network in Canada beginning September 8th, 2014 with the related digital media being posted during each new weekly episode. The first season is also available on gaydirect.com and will be added to iTunes  Canada, US, UK, France, Brazil and other territories soon.

Furry Creek Cast Member On Amazing Race Canada

The always hilarious Ryan Steele whom you may recognize as Freddy Freeland in Season 1 and upcoming Season 2% of “The Face of Furry Creek” will be competing with his friend Rob Goddard on the Amazing Race Canada!

Watch him get lost trying to follow simple directions starting July 8th on CTV. And then watch him in The Face of Furry Creek – Season 2% this fall on OUTtv! Oh, did I mention Furry Creek will have a season 1 marathon followed by a “sneak peak” of season 2% (aka the entire first episode) on Labour Day weekend? Well, now I did.

MKW Productions Announces “The Face of Furry Creek – Season 2”

Toronto, Ontario – Nov 4th, 2013: Canadian writer, actor, director and producer Mark Kenneth Woods and MKW Productions have secured a deal with OUTtv, with the participation of the Bell Media Fund, to produce a second season of Woods’ original scripted comedy series “The Face of Furry Creek”.

The second season will again consist of 6 television episodes and an original digital companion project designed as the contest website within the plot of the television series. Viewers will be urged to visit the faceoffurrycreek.com website to see original media-based contest assignments “made by” the fictional characters in each weekly television episode. Ranging from videos to ongoing online voting, the mobile and tablet-friendly website will provide viewers with the continuing opportunity to engage in the television series beyond their TV screens.

The cult hit that Blouin ArtsInfo called “gutsy satire that deserves more attention” and Homorazzi called “clever and entertaining” will follow the lives of the fictitious citizens of the small mountain town of Furry Creek as last year’s winner faces challenges during their reign and a new contest gets underway.

The mockumentary series will again star Woods, Michael Venus, Ryan Steele and Amy Goodmurphy in multiple roles.

Woods, whom will also act as executive producer, will write all 6 episodes of the second season.

Production will begin in Vancouver and Whistler, British Columbia in February, 2014 and the series is expected to debut in Canada in the summer of 2014.

Furry Creek: From The Beginning

As if the first time wasn’t enough, you can now watch “The Face of Furry Creek” all over again on OUTtv starting tonight July 15th and running right through again until August 19th. The show will re-run in its original time slot of Mondays at 9pm et/pt with repeats throughout the week. Check OUTtv for times.

“The Face of Furry Creek” At Toronto Pride

The Face of Furry Creek” will be out and about during this year’s Toronto Pride festivities! Channel 12’s Mario Mancini and Brenda Bergman, (otherwise known as Mark Kenneth Woods and Michael Venus) will be hosting OUTtv‘s media wall Thursday, June 27th through Saturday, June 29th at Cawthra Park Square, 519 Church Street.

The infamous Furry Creek newscasters will be out of their comfort zone in the big city but they’ll be on hand to make sure you feel like a star when you get your picture taken at OUTtv’s official media wall. And if these two clowns aren’t a draw, how about all the amazing talent you can watch all weekend as part of the Green Space parties. All for FREE! Oh, let’s see, there’s Rupaul’s Drag Race winner Jinkx Monsoon, her friends Alyssa Edwards, Shangela, Lady Bunny, legendary DJ Frankie Knuckles, DJ Ana Paula, DJ Alison Calagna and more!

Toronto, Ontario – May 9th, 2013:  MKW Productions, with the participation of OUTtv Network and the Bell New Media Fund, are pleased to announce the release of television series and online companion project The Face of Furry Creek beginning Monday, June 3rd, 2013 9pm ET/PT on OUTtv Network and www.faceoffurrycreek.com.

Created by comedy writer, producer and actor Mark Kenneth Woods, the scripted comedy series follows a mountain community on the brink of bankruptcy. When Furry Creek’s own Channel 12 holds a $25,000 contest to find “the face” of their town’s new tourism campaign, 5 desperate candidates compete, lie and cheat their way to becoming “The Face of Furry Creek”.

Parodying every reality show from “Housewives” to “Dance Moms”, the financially-troubled citizens of Furry Creek, all played by Mark Kenneth Woods, Michael VenusAmy Goodmurphy and Ryan Steele in multiple roles and genders, jump at the chance to audition and compete for the $25,000 prize. In each episode, the selected contestants are asked to create various digital media that will then be posted on our new media companion project www.faceoffurrycreek.com

Designed as the fictitious Channel 12 contest website, each week the audience will have access to website-exclusive digital media that they have seen the characters work towards in the television series. All for free. Contest task results take the form of pictures, blog entries, videos, social media musings and more, and will be posted daily during the series’ initial television run. Additionally, the website experience will offer weekly recap videos, exclusive interviews with the contestants, lost audition tapes, daily Furry Creek news and a ridiculous reunion special. The online digital experience is now live at www.faceoffurrycreek.com with trailers, bios and teasers.

The television series will air Mondays at 9pm ET/PT on OUTtv Network in Canada beginning June 3rd, 2013 with the related digital media being posting during each new weekly episode. News on US and other territory broadcasts is expected soon.
